I haven't picked up a decent camo in quite a long time. This one just came in Yesterday.
It was a "walk-in" at a gun show here in Michigan about 5 years ago. A local collector (who is not into helmets) bought it from the man who carried it in. He only bought it because the fellow wanted $50 for it and he felt that he couldn't go wrong at that price.
I traded it out of him yesterday but needless to say, the price had risen considerably.
It is a Q62 M35. No trace of a national colors shield but the Luft eagle shows through rather well. The liner band is dated 1939 and each split-pin is marked and dated '39. The strap has no markings.
The neat thing that I like is that it is painted in the inner skirt as well. The paint stops at the liner band.
