Grossdeutschland is a term that came up in the 19th century before the founding of German Empire in 1872, when Germany's area existed of several smaller and lager countries.
After 1870 ( read 1914 WW1) the idea of a Grossdeutschland expanded to surrounding German speaking countries ( or parts of those countries). It�s the base for WW1 and 2.
