Dave: There where pantograph knifes in the 20s and 30s? Please post a photo of an original!

I know that this very fake in the photo now (wich is a totally fantasy) has been around since the 60s, and has gone under several names, (even beeing sold with fake papers of autenicity, for example as beeing a prototype, or beeing a custom job for 10 or so Gau-leaders as a personal gift from Hitler, or Himmler, himself), but I have never ever heard of a 20s, 30s Pantograph, be it nazi or not.

First one I ever saw of the "pantograph-type" was accually not even one of these fake third reichs, but a brand spanking new nickel/silver variaty. It was sold as a paratrooper foldingknife.

As these things do not fool the serious collector I see no real harm, especially since they have been around for some time now and are well know in our community, and people who are getting into our hobby are hopefully asking around on the net FIRST (read: postiong here or on some other forum first), but the real problem also starts here. Whith these things beeing around for so long (surfacing perhaps just 10-15 yrs. after the end of the war) they are accually gaining some patina. This goes for all items, and just not fantasies but regular reprodutions made in those days. This is a sad thing and I (unfourtunantlly) expect to see more of theese things showing up in the next few years to come. I just hope that this will non deter the newcomers to join in our great hobby or some of the "old brigade" to simply drop of...
