Here is another recent acquisition. This helmet is virtually un-upgradeable, for those who seek nice conditioned examples. For those who like combat-worn or "salty" pieces...this one is not for you.
It is a Q64 helmet with lot number BN357. The chinstrap is a G.Schiele, Loburg example dated 1942. The only minor detractors are a small bit of corrosion up in the dome and a museum inventory number penned onto the liner.
The shell has virtually 100% of its period feldgrau rough texture paint showing only minor storage scuffs. The Q runes decal is also nearly 100%. The liner is very soft and still has that unissued creamy tan colour. However, the really nice thing about this piece is that it is an ex-Jim Bandy collection helmet (Jim collected only near mint examples) and it is featured in Ludwig Baer's book at the top of page 190.
