I visited him at his home 1 month prior of his passing and is always a pleasure just to listen to him speak ..as his knowledge was above on the Edged weapons topic.

He had a man cave on the 2nd floor of his home..quite quaint being an A frame style house.
He told me...any book you see in my library here in this room...take what you wish and we will make a deal. Glad to own some of his reference material.

Dean Perdue above said it best about Bill : What a kind and giving soul. He could find beauty regardless of price tag value and had thought provoking perspective. Always with a nice word to say.

I had him autograph Tom Wittmanns SS Edged Weapons reference as well.
Bill was one of many cornerstones in Hobby and History and will be sorely missed.
