Many if not most post offices are under staffed, not unusual to have only 1 teller serving dozens of people languishing in line, also they don't deliver every day, sometimes twice a week and this in a large metropolitan suburb. Seemed to have started with covid and this is a lingering effect, just like supply chain issues, inflation and everything else.
Ordered a guitar from France and I was prepared to wait months for it, to my surprise I had it in less than a week from DHL, though I was rudely surprised with a $135 import fee.
