So, this is the 76th trademark variation on 2nd Lufts in my collection. This does not count unmarked blades, nor postwar mark (B&A), nor distributor double marked nor what may be worn or incorrectly applied marks. But, I do count as a maker mark those blades with distributor marks where these are the only marks (Esser Co, Hast & Uhthoff). I also do not count in the 76 the blades that have added waffen stamps (Eickhorn).
We did discuss Wilh Wagner as a possible maker of Heers in another thread here on GDC.
This dagger is the result of friendship. My dagger buddy, Kevin R, who is a great resource on army daggers noticed this dagger and brought it to my attention, knowing that I am cuckoo for 2nd Lufts. The rest is my being a crazy auction bidder with little self control
It came with an army set of hangers. These now reside on one of my Eickhorn Heers.
So, what do you think?
