Ground dug rings are often found in poor condition. Sometimes they have been cut off a finger, other times just as a result of being crushed under soil, hit by shells, run over by tanks, hit by a pick shovel or rock, freezing and thawing- you name it. So, assuming that it is for sale, does anyone know how much this reconstructed ring is selling for? My question is really about why anyone would spend the time, expertise and money to repair such a badly damaged ring? I appreciate the skill and workmanship but it is not an SS Ehrenring whose cost and rarity might justify all that effort.
