Hi Nibelungen,
It's same thing with another known piece, the dagger of Gruppenf?hrer Knickmann at inauguration of the Krefeldt bridge by R. hess in June 1936. The Knickman's dagger which resides in an american collection according T. Johnson, was made by C.Eickhorn..and a friend of mine is the owner of a splendid another specimen with exactly same design and dedication but made by F. Herder A.S....all is exactly similar except the maker?! His daggers bears on the ricasso "Zweiantfertigung f?r Gruppenf. Knickmann." So why 2 daggers for the same man made by TWO different makers! Best Patrick (FRANCE)
