It is my opinion that this is a model 1930 Royal Air Force Cadet's dagger. The number indicates it was a garrison piece. It appears that the grip may have been repaired. The grip should be mother of pearl although there is one example with ivory. I believe yours to be genuine. I think $400 was a great price for you. As to its value. You paid $400 for it and that is its value.
