Cleaning a German dagger is not a good thing for future value, IMO. The etch on Navy daggers would be best just lightly wiped with something like semi-chrome and a very soft cloth, or some light oil. You should wait for as much input as you can get before doing much to it. Just keep thinking, LIGHTLY. Congrats on your new purchase, and good hunting in the future. Ed
