I agree w G about the damage that would do - it's no traditional piece- coils are odd... Most are thin taut and sturdy for obvious reasons- can't see why u would want any give or slack on the line of a garrote- u would have to be very strong to pull past the stretch. I don't think Japanese tho - although it seems to be a first guess- theirs were single cord or wire and basic. Interlocking coils seems odd too- not sure why u would want all those possible places where line could weaken. Yeah maybe an oss or other torture device- maybe not meant to kill? Just my guesses interesting piece thanks for sharing it
