I respect the oppinions of all of the commentators above but I have to ask two things.

1. Maybe it's the poor quality photo, but the motto looks like it has been engraved! There seem to be little lines or dots within the etching... Is this just the photo?

2. A more obvious concern is the slanted ricasso. I have an early HJ knife by Herm Konejung, and it has no ricasso at all. The slanted variety I have normally seen on post war knives.
