Yes it looks like a South American AF dagger, but South American daggers has coat of arms on the pommel, etching on the blade, etc. But this one is absolutely neutral, do not shows any connection to any counrty, what is strange. I had an Uruguayan AF by Eickhorn, it was identical to this one, but had the "Sun" symbol of Uruguay on the pommel.
