There is a very rare early version of the NSKK chained marine where they used actual copper plate on the fittings, which turned them looking like a Old Copper Penny. This one is on a Gebruder Heller maker. it must have cost more and the tarnished daggers didn't look as nice as the perma-plate copper/gold wash of the later version.
