Hello,
I need some help to identify this hewer/dagger depicted in the link above. It's nearly 18in. Long. Handle is full tang, black horn grips, S-shaped crossguard (probably nickel plated).
The blade has a single fuller on the right side and BACKFISCH stamped on the ricasso.
On adverse side there is the picture mark of Weyersberg, Kirchbaum&Cie. (King and Knight). The sheat is made of leather and the fittings seem to be nickel plated steel as well.
I suppose it's ca. 1900-dated and for hunting purpose. On a french site they guessed it could be a FORSTBEHRDE knife, something official? Others stated it could be a Kind of "London hunting Knife" made by WKC for export before WW1.

Any better information?
Cheers,
Fenris
