Thanks Kevin. Here are some more pictures. The fit is actually pretty tight. Your comment is why I posted here. I've handled a number of genuine pieces from earlier in the war, but not too many late war pieces when I know the quality started to go downhill. I'm fairly suspicious of a few things as I mentioned in my original post, but the blade seems right.
