Here's a 1928 presentation retirement piece I believe.

The dedication with dates on one obverse plaque.

The Towns and/or stations where he served. Quite a career.

This wonderful ivory gripped fire axe does have an anniversary inscription which says
D. freiw.Feuerwehr Leubnitz - To the voluntary firebrigade Leubnitz
zur 50 Jahrfeier, gewidmet, - dedicated to the celebration of the 50 years anniversary
6./7.1878 26./8.1928 - 6.7.1878 26.8.1928

On the other side there are engraved some obvious locally associations like the house owners assoc., the athletic assoc., the railroad assoc., the military assoc. and others more, which might have payed together for this certain (expensive) presentation axe.

I am not very experienced in these items but for sure they are part of the collection field if you do collect edged weapons. This thread is a valuable comprehensive of a lot of variants. Thank you for showing.
