It says Tholens (?) s/l Helff (T... presented it to his dear Helff). Due to the pics (Manxman, I have the same problem you have, always wonder how other members are able to load big and detailed looking pics)I am not sure about the first name. 1935 dated hewers have to be in some certain, early quality and the nice stag grip plates and the heavy silvering seems to conform. And, yes, it would be nice to tell us (perhaps show a pic) what the maker is. Regards,
