I suspect that we all have our favourite design of army crossguard but I thought I would share a couple of pictures of mine. While the Eickhorn 4th is probably the most realistic representation of an eagle manufactured during the period, this early Horster design was a close contender in my opinion.
Nearly every example I have seen of this pattern has shown good detail due to the raised profile and quality casting undertaken by Horster.
A scarce design, the daggers below are marked Horster and Paul Seilheimer and I know a couple of friends also have great examples of this crossguard which maybe they will share.
As far as I know this design will always have a raised circular platform under the swastika.
