I picked this sword up about three weeks ago and couldn't be more thrilled with it. The scabbard leather is near perfect, no scuffs, no tears, and no cracks. Unfortunately it is missing the sewn on leather hanger but I think the condition of the whole piece makes up for it. The crossguard and pommel retain about 30% to 40% of the original lacquer. It's getting harder by the day finding these early nickle silver Luft swords with any lacqure. This sword was personalized by the original owner, by no means professional but personal. It's these little treasures you find that to me make it all worth while. It's tuff to see but there's four letters scratched in the upper scabbard fitting and on the blade next to the makers mark. I've always loved these early Lufts swords, hope you enjoy the pictures.
