Ron, how can the inscription date from 1934 (ground Roehm) when it is clearly dated to 1940? The SHAEF manuals may have been prepared for release to advancing troops in 1944/45, but they were clearly prepared with intelligence gleaned from the pre-war period as well as war-time as evidenced by photos used in some of the manuals like the police. And the SHAEF G-2 realized the changing landscape and issued an updated addendum to the first SA manual. I admitted there still are some questions that need to be explained.
