Adolf Herning's 'Der tod und das madchen' posted in 1916. It has a Ersatzbataillon stamp on the reverse. I thought the artist did a detailed job with the eyes looking lifeless on the beautiful girl. Amazes me the art on postcards these days in comparison to older times.
