I am hoping that some of the expert Eickhorn collectors on this forum may have some information on this dagger. It is a early Eickhorn, with tapered tang blade. The logo however is not the early oval. All fittings, including scabbard, as well as rings and bands are made from aluminum. The scabbard throad is pressed in, no screws. The aluminum is covered in thick plating. Some of the plating on the scabbard has developed blisters. The entire dagger weighs only 250 gramms compared to around 380 gramms for a standard early dagger.
Has anyone seen another example like this?
