Again,thank you Dave . Here now the 2nd part of my story . As Dad and I looked in 1965 for his dress tunic in his footlocker at his home in Hamburg , Germany , we found a 2nd tunic ! He had forgotten about this one . This tunic was issued to him when he got his promotion to Oblt.and the tunic liner has an black ink cancel that reads :' Lapo -Muenchen ' He had never worn this tunic and the Officer's sleeve eagle had not been sewn on . On this tunic all insignia is subdued and the buttons have a gray-green paint finish .
