I found it interesting that the founder of Rolex was a Bavarian named Hans Wilsdorf who was orphaned at 12 and at age 24 decided to set up his watch making business. He came up with the name Rolex because he wanted it to be a short title which was easily remembered. Hans Wilsdorf passed away in 1960.
