I like it a lot and I think it's 100 % right-and Yes, I would buy it in a minute. I don't find it too unusual that the inscription is on the back. Wayne you know the sometimes even factory remembrance etchings were placed on the back only like this.
I also like the gold filling which is typical of hand engraving of the period.
Krebs made some of the wood grip models that are made to look like stag so that is fine too..
Beautiful engraving like this on steel is almost a lost art today. Almost no one can do it anymore, and if so, very time consuming, and very expensive.
