Derjager has an excellent idea linking the table medal threads together. That gave me the idea to do a thread on Police Table Medals.
Here is a nice gold table medal for a police dog. It is nicely cased with a German Shepherd on the front. It was awarded on 3. October 1926 to "Astor" for Very Good performance on the Polizeihund - Pr�fung test.
The case has the sticker of Thieme & Fuchs in Leipzig on the bottom.
I suppose that Astor had no need for anything other than a table medal since he had no uniform to wear one on. I am surprised that he had a table. Must have been a nice doghouse.
