That is really neat and cool.

Where did you locate this item and are there any others available?

John.
A model builder in New Jersey by the name of Ed Turner built it for me, some years ago....I'd wanted a model since I saw the film as a kid, but no one made a commercially available model from the film.
My model was made from a rough resin kit that was put out years ago. Ed effectively scratch-built this one, using the kit as a basis. The intricate details that he hand-made are remarkable. The upholstery nails are regular straight pins. He cut off the heads and drilled miniscule holes into which he glued the pinheads. The brass rails are all hand-made, and the electrical wiring is all concealed in the frame.

There is a company that makes a larger version of this model (my model is 9"x8"x5")
The larger one can be seen at: http://www.masterpiecemodels.com/for_sale/sale_scifi.htm
(Scroll halfway down to the Time Machine 1/6th scale version)
With the upgrade/light kit, it sells for a bit over 500.00, and requires an experienced model builder to assemble and paint.
My version cost me about 700.00, and considering the labor Ed put into it, I think it was a bargain. I'm thankful that it was in my office when my house burned down...Smile
By the way, you can see a short video of my machine in action at: http://www.cameraops.com/EK1/timemachine.mov
