Hi Lewis, It looks like either the Grip or the Crossguards have been replaced on your SA. It is normal to see a bit of 'shrinkage' in grips but not overhangs. Some makers have better grip to crossguard fit than others (see the attached picture). It looks as though the scabbard has had a repaint. Hope this helps . Best wishes, Ian.
