Hello,

I'm sure someone posted this pattern ring in the past, may be Odal ?

Anyway here's an interesting ring for discussion.

Thank you in advance for any contribution

Ric

Ric,

Yes, Scandinavia ... but whose eagle is that ? It does not have the usual Luftwaffe wings or overall shape. With no swastika, could it be something other than Nazi ?

Nice ring, Ric. I agree with Dave. It doesn‘t look like a Nazi pattern but the band looks similar to many Art Deco German ring designs from the 30s and 40s. Curious.

An interesting ring for study , Ric. The structure of the ring seems a bit grainy in all places: The granularity belongs to the Art Déco style? .... or is the ring molded ....?

Looking at this pic, I tend to believe it's by zink silvered......that could explain granularity in some places.

As already noticed by Stephen, the whole design suggest an Art Deco german made ring.

Yes , Stephen mentioned already the Art Déco style of the ring, but I meant that the bubbels strucure could be an used element of the Art Déco.

Zink silvered is a good option.

yes it copies the 'Wilm' style [ art deco]...

But as Dave spotted the obvious,,and its a big thing!,,,,no swastika! There are also a few rough spots, faults here and there.... Don't know exactly what this is but interesting..

Would be great to see inside the band a joining seam, hallmark , etc.

I don't think Odal had this exact ring. He had 60 , 70 rings and believe it or not I knew most but can't remember anymore.. You can try searches here but I don't remember this here.

And, the eagle does not resemble others I've seen in various places. Only 4 main wing feathers, monster talons and leg feathers that stick out.

Ric, where is this ring now ?

here is a slight reminder of it for me... This is one of the campaign / occupier rings... Multi piece,, probably like 8 pieces,,,has Holland on back of band if I remember correctly..

But here we see everything we like to see.!!. The main thing,,a Swastika!! , , Oak leafs and acorns,,the detail is there, quality good.. - But a far cry from first ring..

Ric guess your getting it for inspection / possible purchase.. In hand is best! Good photos make a hell of a difference too! The inner band,, bird eyes view,, etc. etc. etc,,,,going to be very interesting!!
