I would like to get some opinions on the summer weight tunic on ebay right now. It appears to be a twill pattern cloth, unlined, no markings on it. Thoughts or ideas. Thank you.

George,
Neither the tunic or the cap appear correct to me. Both appear to be postwar by their construction. Specifically, the shoulderboards are postwar as is the cut of the tunic. The cap is postwar as well as can be seen by the false ear flaps, green piping, and interior. the belt buckle and holster appear to be correct from what can be seen in the photos.
I would not buy it for my collection. Only buy the items and not the veteran bring-back story. I hope this helps.

I fully agree with George on this one. I wouldn't even bother taking a second look. The shoulder straps appear to be Bundesgrenzschutz and sewn in.
Now, it looks like the auction is now gone?
