Hello This example so far is an unknown maker referred to by collectors as the Deformed Leaf Variant. These come in three different style hardware set ups. An Oval Crimp, Vertical Crimp and like this one a Block Hinge.

AUSSIEDAVE...i would posit that the CEJ and the L/56 are reproductions due to the pin, catch, and probably the hinge also,,,as well as the CEJ marking and the oblong area resereved for the catch on the l/56

I think thats enough for now. I would appreciate if any of you award gurus can identify makers of mine, where they are unmarked.
Thanks for any effort expended, in advance.
David!

Whilst the L/56 would not surprise me, the CEJ has been in my collection for over 30 years. When I bought it, IAB's weren't particularly expensive and seldom faked. A silver washed IAB fake, while more common now, was pretty unusual then. As a Berlin firm, CEJ was often one of the first to produce awards, and I have always thought this was a very early example. The extra effort of cutting out the swastika, on an award often issued, intrigued me. Of course, I could be wrong. David!

Hello David
In my opinion most of these IAB's are fake. Several badges have the look of castings and hardware set ups are wrong. A couple are fantasy pieces that are sold for reenactor's.
Badge #1 This bronze hollow example with the cut out swazy is a fake based on the Hymmen variant. Hymmen never made a badge like this.
Badge #2 This is a fantasy badge made for reenactor's and is thought ot have originated out of the U.K. in the seventies.
Badge #3 These GWL's have been copied pretty well but have some faults with the hardware and the pitted surface. IMO this one is a cast fake.
Badge #4 This 4 vein ShuCo I am not sure about, better pics would help with a straight shot of the badge with the eagle in full view. IMO the hardware is not correct for this example and has been replaced at some point.
Badge #5 This looks to be an unmarked Frank & Reif example with the swazy removed. The softness of the details especially the acorns has me suspect about this example. The catch has been replaced.
Badge #6 This example looks to be a good hollow zinc Deumer. Hard to tell with these pics...Is the catch still intact?
Badge #7 This Juncker marked badge is also a fake IMO. The obverse is based on the Franke & Co or FCL IAB design.
Badge #8 This one as well is a cast fantasy fake loosely based on the FLL variant IMO.
Badge #9 This Funke & Bruninghaus L/56 is also IMO a cast fake. Details are wrong, casting ring with flash around wreath, etc. and the hardware is not correct for this maker.
Badge #10 This ShuCo looks good but better pics would help. The catch has been reattached.
Badge #11 This looks to be a hollow attributed ShuCo design. These were made out of steel and zinc. Is it magnetic?
Badge #12 This looks to be a good Steinhauer & Luck. This is considered a rare variant with this set up. Wish the pics were better.
Just my opinions.
Best Regards, fischer
