I have a hirschfanger by W.K.&C.(king and knight's head logo) that didn't have a hanger.I picked this one up thinking it was the right one. The leather on the scabbard is black and the hanger is a dark brown. Is it possible they toned differently but are correct for each other? I tried to down load Houston's guide but only got a blank page so I wasn't able to find out on my own.I appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Ray

Raymond

That works fine, the frogs came in Brown/Black and green though most green ones are from the 3rd Reich period, your hirschfänger is from an earlier period so that frog is just fine. A very desirable accoutrement indeed.

Raymond, it is quite common that the color did fade from the outside of these hangers. Yours seem to be a once overall black hanger (beside the un-colored reverse).
I have a similar one which was the green variant and has faded to almost light brown on the front.

I also think your hange is ok for your dagger and a nice accouterment.
