I just wanted to share a P-51 fighter pilot KIA grouping I just picked up. From what I have been able to fond out so far, He was killed the day after he had his first aerial victory in Europe. A sad reminder of the true cost of freedom, but also model of courage and valor.

Yes, both the PH and the one Air medal are inscribed to him for award posthumously. I also have the PH award certificate, presidential accolade, and a handwritten letter from the pilot who saw him get shot down. I was able to find the after action reports on his victory against an ME-109, and the one the next day describing his crash.
