This is a photo that I picked up at german Ebay last week for very low money. There are several interesting details - thought you would like to see them Closer view of the SS men These are men from SS-Fussstandarte 20 Dsseldorf, Sturm 4 The Obersturmfhrer is wearing a golden party badge and the SS officers belt buckle, while the Untersturmfhrer next to him is wearing an enlisted mens buckle. There is another golden party badge owner in the group All of them are wearing the early cap insignia so that I would date the photo before 1934 For some unknown reason, there are two men wearing the earth-grey uniforms without insignia. Nothing too spectacular but a nice photo with good details. Kind regards Robert

Obersturmfuhrer looks like the only one wearing a dagger - he must have the most $$$.

Wonderful photos! So much for "strict" SS regulations. Note the member to the left of the officer is wearing an officer's cap and an nco/em buckle.

I think the "earth Brown" tunics you refer to are probably SA tunics notice bottom pockets, picture looks to be in that correct 1933 time frame, judging by insignia for this to happen.

Kursk, I think you are right about him being a tough nut. I love the pose he has his right hand in. He looks ready to fight. Looks like he was early muscle for the cause. He's got one of those faces that yell out from a photo and make you wonder what happened to him.
Thanks for sharing this, GREAT PHOTO!
Harry

The SS mann on the right with the brown uniform, if you look behind him to see the SS man in the black uniform, look at his cap skull closely. Looks like full jaw skull. With the full jaw it has a higher forehead than the jawless. This photo was possible taken "right" at the time of transition, between the 2 skull types. 1934-35. Awesome photo and detail. Great close ups!! For me I like this time period. Great stuff!! best regards Larry
