Obviously a very interesting design here ... Regardless if this particular example is genuine, is this type a known period piece for any Anglo group promoting closer ties with Nazi Germany ?

Does seem like a strong candidate for fantasy.
There actually was a "British Free Corps" during WW2, composed of a tiny core of British prisoners who had decided to make common cause with the Nazis. Sponsored by the Waffen SS, it stands to reason that they must have had some medals/badges, if only prototypes. I have been unable to verify this.
They are known to have had cuff-titles and insignia, which would certainly be an ultra rarity as they were only made in the 100's, with most of those likely having been destroyed by their former owners to try to cover their tracks, or the victorious Allies who found them.

British Free Corps did have their own collar tabs, arm shield and cuffttitle. Medals/badges were standard issue of award from the German armed forces..

This piece was discussed before. Probably long gone by now. Pretty sure the consensus wasn't exactly fantasy but maybe postwar British neo-nazi...

There was another pre war organization of neo nazis in Britain,,here's an interesting link:

Indeed a British Fascist badge from the 1970's

Incidentally, if anyone here is interested in items from other non German National Socialist/Fascist collaborationist groups from the 1930's - 1940's such as the British BUF, the Dutch NSB, the Danish DNSAP etc I have been trying to get an area off the ground on another forum specifically for such groups. I will not post the link here as it may break the rules however please feel free to contact me if you are interested.

Cheers
Don
