I have a late (1942) Eichorn chained NSKK and where the plating has come off on the reverse of the top grip guard it looks like copper underneath. I thought late NSKKs were nickel plated over Zinc or white metal. If so, why does it have a copper color?
Thanks for any help. Mike Boucher

No. Yours appears to copper plating on the outside whereas mine is definitely nickle plated over a metal that looks much darker copper colored underneath.
