I haven't picked up a decent camo in quite a long time. This one just came in Yesterday.

It was a "walk-in" at a gun show here in Michigan about 5 years ago. A local collector (who is not into helmets) bought it from the man who carried it in. He only bought it because the fellow wanted $50 for it and he felt that he couldn't go wrong at that price.

I traded it out of him yesterday but needless to say, the price had risen considerably.

It is a Q62 M35. No trace of a national colors shield but the Luft eagle shows through rather well. The liner band is dated 1939 and each split-pin is marked and dated '39. The strap has no markings.

The neat thing that I like is that it is painted in the inner skirt as well. The paint stops at the liner band.

Great looking helmet Ken. Looks like it has the old garage white paint specs on it too.

That's actually a good question Ken. We see these come through as black every now and again. Is it exposure to water at some point?

The helmet was probably a tan AK helmet before it was three color camoed and the heat in Africa turned a lot of the liners dark.

Correction the white specks are not paint but spider droppings.
