I don�t think you will ever pin down the maker of the dagger but IMO it is of Mid period production it has the thicker crossguard butt. It appears the pommel and crossguard are aluminum with medallion inserts that would support the mid period production estimate as well. This one has allot of the same traits as my pack-triple grip wire as well as the medallion inserts.

Welcome to the forum.
Congratulations.
The first pattern Luftwaffe is an excellent choice for your first dagger.
They are easily the most affordable chained dagger on the Third Reich market.
Someone should have warned you that dagger collecting is addictive.
Its too late now I'm afraid.
Just sit back and let the disease take hold.

I full aware about the addictivness, this one is my first but it was bought some years ago. For the moment he got some friends; LW 2 pattern, a armydagger , a armysword, SA to be seen in actual forum, two bad HJ daggers, a navy with hammered scabbard and a red cross dagger. And not to forget maybe 15-20 bayonets from different countries. Im seek.......
