They do not come along often locally for some odd reason. A few singles and once in a blue moon a multiple. The first example is my only show buy.
Did pick this multiple up localy. Not showy but the soldier covered some ground to get them.

ALSO, I have his dog tag that shows his unit as " 3./K.N.A.422" . So, the unit noted on his pass must have been a temporary assignment !

Here are a few from my collection.
This first one actually belongs to a named tunic that I have (along with the original owner's pictures). I'll post that in the appropriate forum later.

Nice looking bars, do you know if the miniature awards made from zinc or other similar metal or from plastic? I know plastic was not common during that period.

The award devices on the majority of mine are made of a brass base metal. I think some of mine have a silver color base metal but do not think it,s a zinc alloy. I do not recall reading of plastic devices. Nor would I think a zinc alloy would hold up on the small devices like swords, being brittle. I do not recall seeing a ribbon device with zinc pest. Good question. Anyone have magnetic devices? I think some of my full size ribbon devices were magnetic. Will check.

Joe, here is a quote from WAF
After a lot of thought I think this is a put together, or a tailor shop example piece.
I presume that this is a generals ribbon bar given that he has the Bulgarian military merit medal, although I would definately expect to see a crown above the swords, since so highly placed on his bar. Also is the placement of it correct as I can share two examples with you where it is placed at the end of the line.
The last luftwaffe eagle is flying somewhat off course... But this could be down to the fixture of the prongs on the reverse.
The 1939 device is somewhat crude to what I would expect. This is the rarer type device, and all the examples I have ever seen (not many) have been very finely formed/stamped.
There are swords on what appears to be the Hamburg Hanseatic Cross ribbon, could this ribbon be trying to represent something else?
Jim

that 11 place bar,,,looks fine. Nothing glaringly wrong. The devices appear fine as do the awards themselves. The bar is totally conceivable. Even the reverse seems fine.. In our hobby sometimes you get something real good and others just can't believe.. Used to love ribbon bars. All of mine went out with the tide... Come on guys there has to be some interesting ones in your collection to post here...

Joe,, I have a long ish ribbon bar. But it was a sew on type!! no pin/catch, or metal backing at all! It went thru the flood but it was so unique I washed it etc. and it came out pretty good. I really haven't seen another. . I'll get a couple photos of it and post here..
Love ribbon bars hope to see some more here. Anyway, IF a member has one of these sew on examples please post it,,thanks..

was going thru some old photos and realized I had a shot of what some call a very rare ribbon bar..
This is on a Ukrainian volunteers jacket [YBB]. It sold at the last MAX and supposedly heading towards a Ukrainian museum in Toronto.
Has a OstFolk , or Eastern Peoples medal with swords... Jacket I got in Ukraine. A Dutch re issue,,Bar was on loops.. Also a 1st cl OstVolk,,also on loops.. Black collar, no tabs and black shoulder boards, Bevo YBB shield,,buttons German, ink stamps inside for re issue for volunteer. Belt appears to be in good condition but would probably snap in half bent.. ..

An interesting piece Joe. For some reason ribbon bars have never hit the spot for me, I don't know why...
