Hi Guys,
I need to ask a question about tang marks on Rohms, I have a ground Pack with the number 7 and what looks like an A in a circle, a friend of mine has just got his hands on a Rohm with the inscription all present most of Ernst is there with just the R for Rohm the rest including the m/m has been ground off and I can just barely see where it was it could either have been an eickhorn or wusthof, but he has nothing, nada, nicht markings on the tang, should there be?? unfortunatly my camera isnt the best and you would need a magnifing glass to see any thing I know that He has a time period on return, any help would be much appreciated.

as always

Michael... isn't the Milshop the website that has a fake Himmler advertised?

I have a partial Rohm made by Pack, here's y tang mark:

I've just had a look at the dagger on Milshop, the blade appears to have been buffed quite considerably. The inscription looks okay but I think it's too hard to tell without a hands on opinion. As the maker mark is gone, you can't match the depth and burnishing. Also, there is no burnishing on the motto.

I don't know if it's alright to have the tang missing any markings. Hopefully another member can clear that up?

Between Eickhorn and Wusthof, my guess is it's an Eickorn for 2 reasons: the original maker mark appears to be very close to the bottom crossguard and Eickhorn, according to the reference books, was a maker for the gau Nrh, while Wusthof is not listed.

His fake Himmler is on page 8, item 10. I emailed the Owner about a month or so about it and never received a response. Somebody's gonna get burned on close on $9000.00

sdp, Thats what is my main worry, as I would hate to see my friend get burned for that amount of money and unfortunatly I dont have the experience to say it is or it isnt, as for the Himmler yeah it is the same guy aswell if I remember rightly the SS Honour Dagger of dubious reputation!!! thats why Im quite cagey as I pointed these out to my friend.

Okay... let's see what the others say. However, going on his past reputation, I wouldn't buy anything from that website.

I have two Eickhorn SA ground Rohm and both have the A in a circle. One is numbered 15 and the other 17. I don't know if they all should have tang marks but all my early Eickhorn SA and SS are tang marked in the same way.
