Hey fellas, I just got this Spitzer army dagger and was wondering if looks ok. I understand that Spitzer had their own style fittings early on, and then went to the generic one. Can anyone tell me if this is an early Spitzer crossguard, and where does spitzer fit in the rarity scale.
Thanks guys

This looks to be an Early Pack crossguard which is correct for an early Spitzer from the examples I have seen. Beautiful hand work on this crossguard as the early pack guards always exhibit.

I would say Spitzer is not rare but uncommon they had several different size marks maybe Denny has the info on this. Spitzer on Dennys Rarity list is 5 out of 10

Does this Spitzer have a tapered tang? Just curious about that point? Scabbard type?

I sure love those EPack fittings on the early daggers. Your's is no exception. Nice from what I see.

Hey Guys, thanks for the input. The tang is the older taperd type. Where is this rarity scale that people are refering to?

The rarity scale is the "Roach list" it is available through Mr. Roach. Check out the thread under this page entitled "Roach list".
Thanks again to Mr. R. for sending the list to me. VERY nice!!!
