This is Lance. I am at the beach and found some of Tom Wittmans catalogs of my Dads. In January 1987 the asking price of a HJ Leazder (m7/36) was $1250 near mint, a Lutters HJ with "engraved" motto was $95 mint and an HJ Bayonet by Anton Wingen (like page 297 vol 2 of Johnson) was $325 and had been "drastically reduced" becasue it had not sold from catalogs 3 & 4. HJs went from 65 to 95. An SS Himmler was $2795 near mint, late SA 125, early SAs around $300 and SS 33s in excellent shape for 600-800. Its insteresting to see how the descriptions have changed in 19 years and how prices were reduced then when something did not sell. Lance

Adjusted for inflation the $2795 Himmler SS would be $4700 in today's dollars. The SS M33 would be $1350
As you can see, nice militaria outstrips inflation.
