Hey gang! Here's my one and only Picklehaube. Took some new pics and thought I'd share. This must have been one of the last examples issued as it is dated 1916! Great condition with some crazing to the leather...Man: it's so small though! It barely fits my 8 year old!
Cheers folks!

The leather crazing is just what you want to see. Also, look inside the helmet where the eagle is secured. Are there leather wedges through the eyelets?

Rob,
most of these helmets are in small and very small sizes. Yours is a very nice untouched original.
Regards Kolibri

Rob, there were not a lot of large size helmets. The most people in these times had small sizes. You can see the same if you look after imperial uniforms, caps, boots or belts: mostly in small sizes. Kolibri

Rob, Thanks for sharing your nice helmet with us, a great aspect of German militaria to whet one's whistle with ! I must agree with my fellow collector Kolibri about these late 19th and 20th century head sizes, they were invariably small in the majority, though, I can't explain it..? Maybe it was the vitamins and chemical enhancements we've eaten that made our heads grow? ha! Hope you'll share some more of your collection with us Rob. Enjoy your Super-Bowl weekend mates, but don't get too soused! Bill

Hi. The wartime Prussian line infantry helmets ,all original and complete ie m1915 model em's sell between $450.00 to $900.00 US, all depends on condition and how well mark the helmet is . ie dated with manufature marking and regiment markings and name of the owner sometimes.
Thanks Joe Semen
