Very nice!
But clearly you have far too many SS helmets and several are subject to abuse Wink

That's an impressive helmet collection Russ - Congratulations! I think you need to trade one of those "SS surplus" helmets with one of my camos. Smile

Cheers,
Asper

If they're all real, and I have no reason to believe they aren't, that's one of the largest gatherings of SS lids in one place I know of. Now, you just need to invest a fraction of your helmet collection value in a real display case. Wink

NICE COLLECTION MATE!

Hi Ed, Lance is posting pictures now that we finally can. His quality is improving. I do collect HJs now primarily but for years and years I collected everything. We had a lot of 29th division vets and I got many many things from them including helmets. I worked in the local hardware store here from the age of 12 until I got out of law school. This was 1972-1984 and the hardware was the local hangout for these guys. Back then if you showed interest they would just give the stuff to you. I have an m16 DD SS helmet in black that I paid a whole summer weeks work for in 1976 $120. wonder if I could get that much for it now?????
I have all types of daggers and helmets mostly. 90% came from guys within a 30 mile radius of here. Those were the days. I have recently been fortunate enough to get 3 footlockers of booty from the guy who brought it back. This is my first footlocker buy since 1993 if I remember right. Russ

Russ, Great collection, can't wait to see the rest of it. '90% came from a 30 mile radius of here' this gives an idea of how much stuff was brought back. Tim.

I was wondering about that one too. Unfortunately, it appears to be on an M35 shell.

Cheers,
