I found this and its $75. I was wondering if you experts could chime in and tell me what you think. The title is "ALLGEMEINE SS ARMBAND LATE WAR" "SS ARMBAND. Nice late war SS Allgemeine armband. Printed swastika on cotton cloth. Shows some staining/discoloration to the white and red cloth from age and storage. No moth damage, overall nice condition. "

You don't need an expert on this one. I can even say no. You can get a decent filler for less also.

I don't understand... I've seen Armbands that are SS and they went for $150 or even $400. How is this not a great item? http://65.160.172.250/ss/ss934.htmlThis item is 600 dollars.... How is 75 not a deal?

Cause it's a reproduction. Not even close to the real deal.

I'm not an armband expert. However, I would agree just cause it's very odd. Usually, cotton armbands have a white cotton rondel. This rondel looks like one that would go on a wool armband. Also, I've never seen this type white material with a printed swastika. There are printed swastikas, but always on plain cotton. I don't know if they were using this stamp at this supposed time. I'd certainly go for a more traditional type, as they're readily available. You're better off with a more common SA armband you know is real, than an SS one that is doubtful.

So I'm guessing I should expect to pay in the hundreds?

For a real SS armband with a cloth SS RZM tag, you can expect to pay more than a paper tag one which will cost more than one with no tag.
It depends on what kind you want and you can plan on paying in the 300-500 range for a nice original example if I remember correctly.
Regards, Jeff

Everybody has missed that olde fake stamping with the fake rubber stamp that says: "Schutzstaffel-Quartier, Berlin SW/68". These fake things have been around for years.

Marker, you have to watch ioffer..it is one of those smaller internet auctions that unscrupulous people go to dump questionable (and not so questionable unfortunately..) items, that would not pass mustard here..
Real SS armbands, in fact anything real SS is getting very expensive..join up and become a member, you will find some very good authentic items on our for sale part of the forum, but you have to be quick!
