Russ,
Very pretty HJ to look at.
This is a reproduction, correct? If not, please educate me. I have not seen one of these before.
Thanks

NOt a reproduction, original in all respects. A one off celebrating the 800th birthday of Schloss Berg. Made in several patterns as gifts for dignitaries. See Johnson's newest book, its in there. Russ

Cannot make out much from the posted ones...
What is written on the blade?
Best regards,
Herman

If the other Demast HJ was a known 3R pattern it probably would. As I remember, the pattern on the Krebbs was nothing like ANYONE has found from the 3R period. I would not buy any Damascus piece from a pattern unknown to have been found in the 3R period. You can buy Boker, Parker, Case and one off Damascus blades anywhere nowdays. There was a Forestry dagger with the same inscription as this HJ that is known and rumors of several other pieces including one to the burgermesiter for this occassion, the 800th birthday of the off the Schloss Burg. I do not claim to be an expert in 3R Damascus but I do have a 1st and 2nd model Luft in Damascus, a Heer and both a Reichsmarine and Kreigsmarine Damascus piece as well as a sword or two. I am pretty confident I know 3R patterns and can differientate between a Wester and Muller piece. The pictures are not the best as Lance is just learning to take and post. Look at the book and you will see the differences. Russ
