I visited an old friend yesterday who landed on D-Day, fought in the infamous Hurtegen Forest and then was sent to recuperate in the Argonne Forest. His tales of the kingtiger tanks coming through the forest and the complete surprise of the Allied units at such an event are riveting.
I am not certain of much of what it is except the German Red Cross patch's. Any idea's?

Mark, I'm sure the stories this vet tells are riviting. It's nice that he's willing to share his memories. The first pair of patches are from the Red Cross overseas hat. I don't know what the second one is. The 3rd photo is a visor hat insignia for the Kyffhuserbund (veterans organization). The patch in the 4th photo I believe is also Red Cross.I looked in my books to double check but couldn't find it.

Your friend has a nice display of hard earned awards. The wreathed item is a Kyffhuser hat badge. (Veterans group). It shows the WWI Vets. monument. --dj--Joe Looks like Raymond types much faster than I.

The RC gray shield with the eagle and swastika is a lower sleeve patch for physicians, as I remember. The other two are for the OS cap. Ron Weinand
