Dagger addict...I have my doubts about your RZM clip.First off (correct me if im wrong guys) a army hanger would never have a RZM on it anywhere. The RZM was for the party not military use.The army hanger looks ok itself (original) but the added RZM piece looks weird, as in maybe a repro.I dont like the rzm etch. Its a strange set-up.

I have never seen one on a army either. This dagger is a good original virgn dagger and hangers. Was told that it had been in the family since it was brought back, but have heard that before.Lets say that they were telling the truth, has anyone seen this before and is it possible? What type of dagger is it supposed to be on?Also is there a website with Hanger RZM info?

That is an Army hanger that has been modified by the addition of one of the large clips that are seen on early SS vertical hangers. The guy wanted to be able to clip his hanger onto a D-Ring. Most probably it was a ring sewn under a uniform pocket flap.

I agree with Dave. While the presence of the RZM mark shows that the dagger was not produced as-is, it looks like a period modification.

I agree also. RZM markings CAN appear on non-party items but I never have seen an Army hanger with them.

Is it just me( i havent really studyed RZM marks) but that is one crude RZM mark.I didnt realize that were that sloppy and crude looking, all the ones i remember were alot more sharp and detailed.

Rick,
That one looks OK. Give me a day or so and I'll dig of some early SS verticals and take pictures.

I know it is not the way the hanger was intended but I like those things that are different.Looks period to me,and that makes it that much more unique.I am sure this is not the only hanger out there to be altered, but sure havent seen any others in my travels. Thanks Dave!
